Please spend 5 minutes of your busy schedule in reading this post till the end.
My intention of posting this article is not to seek popularity or criticise, but reaching the ground reality to our people, especially the youths who need more ATTENTION!
Why most of the media are bogus?
Most of the media (not all) are selling the information as a commodity alone and focusing (More than 90%) on trivial issues like cinema, cricket, individuals privacy, political conflicts, myths, superstition, sensitisation. But it failed to create the awareness and they focus(Less than 10%) on the real issues and the solutions. They have created a VIRTUAL WORLD, trapped the people in trivial issues, by deviating them from the REAL WORLD.
The real issues in India are
82% of the households in rural India still lacks basic amenities like drinking water, electricity and sanitation. (70% of the Indians are living in Villages, totally 6 lac villages)
Around 30% people are poor (A person who spends 32rs in the rural, 47rs in the urban daily is not a poor!).
More than half of the people don’t have access to the functioning toilets, practise open defecations.
1 in 4 (25%)families don’t have access to the electricity.
2.1 million Indian children die before reaching the age of 5 every year – four every minute – mostly from preventable illnesses such as diarrhoea, typhoid, malaria, measles and pneumonia. Every day, 1,000 Indian children die because of diarrhoea alone. 30% of the world’s malnourished children live in India.
Very low doctor patient ratio: 1 doctor for every 1,700 people. Even, Pakistan is far better than us (1 doctor for every 1250 people). Less access to hospitals and facilities, including nurses.
Patriarchal attitude: India is yet to pass the Women Reservation 33% bill which is pending for many years. But their population is around 47%. Out of 543 MPs in the current Lok sabha, only 62 are women (11%). Surprisingly, this the highest representation so far!
Stereotype mindset: Biased, son preferring parents. RESULT -> (only 65% women are literate, but 82% men. Adverse child sex ratio 914 girl children for 1000 boy children).
Crime against women: It starts before the birth itself. i.e.,female foeticide!. Brutal Khap panchayats in few states like Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, etc. one of the khap panchayats ordered chopping off woman’s nose for complaining of rape against her father-in-law (Dec 2014, Barmer dt, Rajasthan).
11 crore youths are either unemployed or unemployable.
Around 25% illiterate (who don’t know how to read and write, differ from educated) people. Many countries including Japan have already achieved 100%.
Lack of quality education: Many of the students had scored 499/500 in SSLC exams. Does the number really matter? Education in India needs radical changes, standard of education should be improved with more emphasis on application and research. Privatisation in education is now a business, and not an act of imparting knowledge. Middle or upper middle income people are paying in lakhs for schooling. But the poor or low income people are still struggling to get into the mainstream society. Privatisation should be eliminated. Everyone must get unbiased, equal, quality education at free of cost. Education is the KEY to eliminate POVERTY.
Farmer suicide: 2 lac+ farmersfarmers commit suicide in last one decade due to the insolvency.
More than 50% of the people don’t have access to banking. Post office banking, mobile banking, NBFC, BC should grow rapidly.
Very low Human Development Index – Ranking 135/187. At least 5% of the GDP should be spent for inevitable human development activities such as education, sanitation and healthcare which can create a humongous IMPACT in next few decades.
Lack of modernism: The modernism is related to the scientific and rational thinking, rather than the external appearance like dress, style or ornaments (these are all fashioned). Even today, many of the educated people themselves are filled with casteism, patriarchy, stereotype mindset, myths & superstitions like witchcraft, astrology, numerology and prophecy!
Why am I paying more attention towards media?
Now a days, we are spending more time in media, including fb, WhatsApp, etc. But we are deviated towards the trivial problems by surroundings(especially Media) which is the prominent factor in influencing & shaping our ATTITUDE (Surroundings -> Thoughts -> Speech -> Act -> Habit -> Attitude). Instead of targeting TRP or profit or popularity alone with more than 90% of the TRIVIAL problems, IT MUST EMPHASIZE ON THE REAL ISSUES AS WELL.
